Ville Valo Auction Rules

Genelec is organising a global eBay auction running from Thursday 13th October 2022 at 21:00 EEST (GMT+2) until Sunday 23rd October 2022 at 21.00 EEST (GMT+2). The successful bidder will receive our unique pair of Ville Valo hand-painted Genelec 8341A Smart Active Monitors.

Official Rules of the Auction

1. Organiser of the Auction
The Auction is organised by Genelec Oy, Olvitie 5, 74100 Iisalmi, Finland (“Genelec”), tel. +358 17 83 881.

2. Auction Period
The Auction Period starts on Thursday 13th October 2022 at 21:00 EEST (GMT+2) and ends on Sunday 23rd October 2022 at 21:00 EET (GMT+2). Any bids received before or after the Auction Period will not be accepted.

3. Who can participate
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry into the Auction. Employees of Genelec or its affiliates or partners or agents and members of their immediate families are not eligible to participate. Genelec reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the entrants. No purchase is required to enter the Auction and a purchase will not increase the chances of winning.

4. How to participate
Eligible entrants can participate in the Auction during the Auction Period, as detailed above. Participation is via the eBay ecommerce platform (www.ebay.com), and all participants will be bound by eBay’s rules:

After the Auction Period has ended, the winning bidder will be notified directly by eBay. The winning bidder then has seven calendar days to pay for the prize. If the winning bidder cannot or will not pay for the prize within that period, then that bidder will forfeit the prize and Genelec will select the next highest bidder as the new winner, who will then be contacted via email on the day of selection. This process will repeat in the same way for any subsequent non-payments by bidders.

5. The Prize
The Auction prize is our unique pair of Ville Valo hand-painted Genelec 8341A Smart Active Monitors. All taxes related to this Auction, if any, are the responsibility of the organiser of the Auction. No substitution or transfer of prize is permitted except at the sole discretion of Genelec. No cash alternatives will be offered. Genelec is also responsible for the shipping fees and any import duties involved in delivering the prize to the winner.

Genelec will publicly announce the winner of the Auction by the 20th of November 2022 at the lastest.

6. Personal data and publicity
The collection and handling of personal data is limited to the extent necessary for the delivery of the prize of the Auction, and for such purpose the information submitted may be transferred within or between Genelec and its affiliates and other third parties participating in arranging the Auction, which may be located within or outside the European Economic Area. Personal data shall not be used for any other purposes. Personal data collected for this will be handled in accordance with the Organiser´s privacy policy, located at https://www.genelec.com/privacy-policy.

7. Liability

Applicable to Australia
Nothing in these Official Rules limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Act 2001 (Cth) or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non Excludable Guarantees.

Applicable to all territories
Genelec is not liable for any indirect damages or damages that the Organiser could not reasonably have foreseen. Genelec is not liable for damages caused by third parties or reasons not attributable to the Organiser (such as interruption of the Auction or damages attributable to a failure in network connections/communications). Genelec accepts no responsibility whatsoever for damage or loss resulting from late, misdirected or incomplete entries, and by taking part in the Auction the entrant warrants that all information submitted is true, current and complete at the time of submission. It is the entrant’s sole responsibility to ensure that the entrant’s contact information details are accurate. Genelec accepts no responsibility for any changes which are not properly notified according to the timelines stated in these Official Rules of the Auction. The prize winner shall relieve Genelec and all of the companies/parties that participated in planning and implementing the Auction from all responsibility relating to injury or damage arising from entering into the Auction or from redeeming and using the prizes.
