Spain’s Hispasonic Honours Genelec’s the Ones as Studio Equipment Product of the Year
Genelec’s ground-breaking range of three way coaxial monitors, The Ones, have been voted as 2017’s Studio Equipment Product of the Year by the readers of leading Spanish audio website Hispasonic. In a particularly close fought contest in which more of the website’s readers participated than ever before, Genelec’s ultimate point source enclosures won out against numerous competitors with almost 50% of the votes.
Hispasonic is among the Spanish speaking world’s most respected audio technology websites, offering a mixture of news, opinions and reviews focused on music technology. Since 2013, the magazine’s readers have been invited to participate in an annual survey aimed at honouring the best new products launched during the preceding 12 months. Votes are cast across 10 categories, ranging from DJ equipment and synths to larger format consoles and interfaces.
The award follows Hispasonic’s glowing review of The Ones in May 2017, when the website praised the three-way coaxial design of The Ones.“By being able to listen much nearer to the monitors (even up to half meter), the user can hear more direct sound without so much colouration from reflections in the room, something that will be of benefit to small home studios,” it wrote.
