One on One with Peter Morris of Voiceover Soho
Voiceover Soho has gained a reputation as one of the most professional, creative and friendly voice recording and audio post-production operations in London, and their new space in Fitzrovia is an all-encompassing production facility covering all areas of audio post, music production, Voiceover and ADR.
Owner Peter Morris’s strong commitment to Immersive Audio has led to this new Dolby Atmos equipped installation featuring a 7.1.4 Genelec SAM monitoring system, supplied courtesy of HHB Communications.
He explains:
”I needed a room where I could work to the highest standards - to work on features, to record ADR and hence that's how this room came about. I wanted to create a space that was fundamentally creative and that was geared towards people who wanted a relaxed atmosphere that was familiar and easy, and yet gave them all the technical spec that they needed to do whatever they wanted to do.”
Peter’s choice of Genelec 8351 in the L/C/R positions with four 8340s as surrounds, four 8330s as overheads and two 7370 subwoofers handling LF duties came as no surprise really:
“I'd always loved Genelec. Working as a musician in studios, when I worked with Genelec I realised that they were right for me and I loved their sound. One of the incredible things about this Genelec Atmos system is the SAM technology. Having Smart Active Monitoring, that allows the system to align to the room, is really incredible.”
