'Le Voyageur 1' Mobile Recording Truck
The largest mobile recording truck in Europe, ‘Le Voyageur 1’, part of the Dushow Group recently installed a Genelec 5.1 Smart Active Monitoring (SAM™) systems to complement its custom-made main monitors, designed in 1999 by Marc de Fouquières.
The Genelec 5.1 monitoring system is based on the revolutionary 3-way acoustically coaxial 8351 SAM monitor with a complementary 7360 Smart subwoofer. This system was selected by ‘Le Voyageur 1’ audio engineers after completing very successful location recordings of the latest Johnny Hallyday and U2 concerts.
Jérôme Blondel, chief recording engineer in the Voyageur 1, was already convinced of the accuracy and ease of use of Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM™) and AutoCal™. Using the latest GLM 2.0 version, he acknowledged its enhanced flexibility and powerful management features which allow to find quick and efficient monitoring solutions in a constraint environment such as a large mobile recording truck.
